Thank you to all who donated on Sunday June 14! We collected 157 pairs of shoes and several pairs of socks. Over the past couple of weeks we have distributed your generosity directly to those who are severely impaired and lacking adequate resources in San Diego, Inland Empire, DTLA, SFV, Santa Monica, Venice, Hollywood, and Koreatown… here are some of the folks you have helped.

PAPA Fiesta 2025 introduced Operation Cover-Up, a humanitarian effort to bring blankets, jackets, and sleeping bags, directly to the homeless population, all of which was made possible through the generous donations of the PAPA membership. Operation Cover-Up was a great success and made a huge impact on the lives of many people.
Another overwhelming need was revealed during Operation Cover-Up: so many unhoused people lack decent footwear (shoes and socks).
So, in that same spirit of goodwill, team volunteers will again be collecting donations at this summer’s PAPA 2026 Picnic for Operation Happy Feet.
If you are willing/able to donate, please bring a gently used pair of shoes (or as many as you can) to the picnic. No spare shoes? No problem… how about a package of socks, instead?
The ask here is that the shoes be taped together with masking tape (see photo example), and the size written on the tape for easy accessibility (i.e., Men’s 12, Women’s 9).
Your donations will be delivered directly to those who are severely impaired and lacking adequate resources. You could literally be helping someone take a step up and into hope, through a small act of kindness.
That said, dig way back in those closets and dust off those loafers or sneakers that have been taking up space for years and help make some Happy Feet this summer.
