Virtual meetings are held on Zoom. They feature guest speakers. These meetings are informative and fun. Typically held on the third Saturday of each month. You can view past meetings on our PAPA YouTube page. Please check our calendar for upcoming events.

In-Person Meetings & Events

In-person meeting are fun social gatherings to talk with people you meet on the air, talk about projects, contests, or catch up with friends. We have presentations at some meetings.

Ham Exams (Testing) at our In-Person Meetings

PAPA offers ham license exams before each meeting for new hams or those wanting to upgrade their license. If you are interested in taking a license exam, please visit our Ham Exams page. You will find information there about taking your exam either in-person or on-line.

Please Note: You will need to register in advance at hamstudy.org as walk-ins are not accepted.

Raffle Prizes at our In-Person Meetings

Our PAPA Partners have agreed to support our Luncheons and Breakfasts with their products for raffle prizes. Please see our In-Person Meeting Raffle Prize page for more information.

PAPA Antenna Show & Tell Events

Several times a year PAPA members meet to set up and demonstrate some of their favorite portable antennas and rig configurations. In addition to learning about setups for POTA and/or SOTA, these events are another great way to meet your on-air friends in person. CLICK HERE for dates and to learn more.

Northern Region Breakfast Meetings

Breakfasts and luncheons in the Northern region alternate between Lulu’s Restaurant in Van Nuys in even numbered months, and Sizzler in Culver City in odd numbered months, on the second Saturday of each month. Lulu’s in Van Nuys meetings start at 8:00am; luncheons at Sizzler in Culver City star at 11am. Please check the calendar for specifics.

License Exams (Tests): Each meeting is preceded by a testing session that starts at 7:00am. Please register in advance at hamstudy.org, or contact Norm, K6YXH at [email protected] to arrange to take an exam at Lulu’s or Fromin’s. Remember, you must pre-register for an exam session; no walk-ins. Note that if no one signs up for an exam, the session will be cancelled.

Central Region Lunch Meeting

Luncheons in the central region are held on the fourth Saturday of each month at the Sizzler in Fullerton. Meetings typically start at 11:30am and run until about 1:30pm

Please register in advance at hamstudy.org, or contact Norm, K6YXH at [email protected] to arrange to take an exam at Marie Callender’s. Inland Empire Region Breakfast Meeting

Luncheons in the Inland Empire are held on the second Saturday of each month at the Redlands Municipal Airport Lobby in Redlands. Meetings start at 9am. We offer ham license testing at 8am for Technician, General and Amateur Extra class licenses. Cost is $15 payable by check or cash.
