PAPA is sad to report that Ron Wynner, WA6WLZ, went Silent Key on February 7, 2024, in Northridge just before his 85th birthday.
Born in Chicago on Valentine’s Day 1939, Ron moved to La Crescenta at 5, then to Reseda where he graduated from Reseda High in 1957. His interests included mechanics, electronics and Vivien, whom he married in 1964. Ron founded Wynner TV Service in 1958 and Wynner Tire Service in 1967, which he later closed in order to focus on television sales and service for 65 years. Ron purchased his first and only home in 1961 from his father. Ron enjoyed the neighborhood and its proximity to his television shop. Ron enjoyed building model airplanes and trains, vacationing with family and friends, as well as spending quality time with his many dogs which he considered his children. Ron was also an active ham and volunteered his time with many organizations including LAPD. He was most happy behind the wheel of his boat or taking his dogs on leisurely walks.
Ron is survived by Vivien, his wife of almost 60 years, Adrienne and Vincent his daughter and son-in-law, grandchildren Abigail, Evan, Elysse, Ralph and his dog Remy. If you wish to further celebrate Ron’s long and meaningful life, organizations he supported include the LAASPCA and the American Lung Association.
We will miss you Ron!
73,
Cecil, WD6FZA
