The PAPA Orange County Luncheon was held on Saturday August 22
Despite a very hot summer day in August, the meeting turnout filled the room leaving only one or two seats available. At the end of the test session, there were 3 new Techs and 1 upgrade to General. One of the new techs was 10-year-old Olivia, whose birthday just passed. Congratulations to all who passed!
Ivo, N6IVO gave a brief report about a stay on Santa Cruz Islands for PAPA Ham Camp.
Mark Irwin, KO6NKV, won the raffle. He is a new HAM this year and passed his General element today. He chose the AnyTone 890. Congrats Mark!
This month’s guest speaker was Joe Touch, AK6MB. His presentation on “D-STAR Simplified” was packed full of helpful information. The presentation is available HERE. Joe retains copyright, but is glad to share this info with other hams interested in D-STAR.
