The PAPA Orange County Luncheon was held on Saturday August 22
I want to start this month’s recap by reminding all of the PAPA system motto:
“No Call Goes Unanswered.”
PAPA OC held its July meeting on July 25th starting with a VE session. Congrats to the 4 Technicians upgraded to General and the one General upgraded to Amateur Extra!
Mark Irwin, KO6NKV, won the raffle. He is a new HAM this year and passed his General element today. He chose the AnyTone 890. Congrats Mark!
This month’s guest speaker was Joe Touch, AK6MB. His presentation on “D-STAR Simplified” was packed full of helpful information. The presentation is available HERE. Joe retains copyright, but is glad to share this info with other hams interested in D-STAR.
I want to close this recap the way I opened it, “No Call Goes Unanswered.” Join us next month on September 19 when PAPA’s own Randy K6QQP will present on WPSD and building an automated controller for tracking satellites.
