Deric Knight (KO6EJV) and ZBM2 Industries are being introduced as a new PAPA Partner. They bring us the Foul Weather Whip Antenna V2 that won’t sag in the cold due to special nickel titanium alloy blend. A bigger more robust clasp style BNC connector that allows for quick disconnects if you are wearing gloves in cold weather or fighting fires. Sturdy strain relief back shell.  +~3Dbi gain. Tuned for 146MHz & 446MHz with the 2M/70cm option. There is also a MURS/GMRS version that is tuned for 160Mhz/460Mhz. This antenna is a dual band UHF/VHF antenna. It’s perfect for a handheld setup. It pairs nicely with any Baofeng/Yaesu/Quansheng/Motorola/Hytera and so on. If it does UHF/VHF this antenna will make it better.

All of their antennas are made with a BNC connector, this is done to make it easy to remove. Don’t forget the BNC adapter! Take a look at your radio’s SMA with the antenna removed. The center pin determines the gender. You only need to pay attention to the SMA gender. If it has a pin you need the Female adapter, If there is a hole you need the Male adapter.
They are a disabled veteran-owned small business. ZBM2 Industries was founded in San Diego in 2024 to fulfill a niche need: crafting American-made antennas that blend supreme durability with distinctive style. Designed for the bold—ham radio enthusiasts, adventurers, first responders, and more—our products promise reliability for every situation. Deric makes each antenna by hand in his garage with 100% American made parts from American based companies like We-Supply in San Diego, ABR Industries in Houston Texas, and Wirecare.com from New Jersey. He strives to buy everything from small family owned businesses.
Currently they have a Dual Band 2M/70cm antenna made from durable nickel titanium alloy that has been weather proofed and covered in a PET (Polyethylene terephthalate, a form of polyester) mesh in any color anyone could ever want.
They are working on an HF 1:9 UNUN EFHW 10/20/40/60M antenna that should be available soon. It’s a pocket size HF antenna for POTA/SOTA enthusiasts and QRP’rs everywhere.
They have antenna for 700MHz, 800Mhz, and 906Mhz antennas that all fall into the niche need for first responders, and Meshtastic enthusiasts. I also have some aviation antennas on the horizon!

From Deric: The business name comes from CW operations during WW2 and Korean war where ZBM2 means “put a competent operator on the net” It was fun to mess with each other when we made silly mistakes. It’s also a bit of a nod to the seasoned HAM operators. Most people are aware of Q codes. As you know Q codes are questions. Can you hear me, what is your location, and so on. Z signals are commands like change to this frequency. I was a Navy Radioman for 10 years and did civil service for 5 more with the Navy after I got out as a Field engineer for RF and Radar Systems.
