The PAPA System had an incredible time attending the Yuma Hamfest February 14-15, 2025. Our PAPA team connected with so many passionate and knowledgeable radio enthusiasts. It was great to meet fellow operators, share stories, and strengthen relationships within the amateur radio community. We were thrilled to introduce the PAPA System to potential new members as well as reconnect with longtime members and friends who have supported the system over the years.
The event was also a success for our fundraising efforts—we sold a variety of HAM radio gear and accessories, with all proceeds going toward future upgrades to keep the system strong and reliable.
A big shoutout to HRO who saved the day by supplying us internet to keep the PAPA Portable node connected to the PAPA System all weekend so we could demo the network to the Amateur Radio community.

We had over 30 PAPA folks for the dinner… and Ivo, KO6BKX won the Go Box. Congrats Lou!
The PAPA Portable Node was also at Yuma, so folks were able to remained connected to the PAPA System.
The Yuma Hamfest was a fantastic weekend overall. The energy, camaraderie, and shared love for Amateur Radio made this hamfest truly special, and we can’t wait to do it all again next year! The event organizers have locked in the event for the next two years so start making plans if you missed out this year.
