National Police Week begins on Sunday May 15th and runs until May 21st honoring all law enforcement officers who have given their lives in the line of duty. In 2021, 129 officers were lost.
K3FBI will be a Special Event Station on the air from different states during Police Week by various operators. Anyone who works one or more K3FBI stations can obtain an online certificate. One can check the qrz.com listing for K3FBI to obtain more information and find the link to get the certificate.
PAPA’s own Scott WA9STI will be operating K3FBI/9 all day Sunday, May 15th, from the Little Bohemia Lodge in Manitowish Waters, WI. Little Bohemia was the location of a 1934 raid to apprehend hoodlums John Dillinger and Baby Face Nelson where an FBI agent was killed. Most HF bands will be used on both SSB and CW and frequency spotting will be via www.dxsummit.fi. Scott will also operate K3FBI/9 from SOTAs and POTAs later during the week.
